The British Army Target Pistol (TP) team has the largest participation in target pistol across all three of the Armed Services. The section comprises of the Development Squad, the Army TP team as well as the Troops to Target Elite (T2T) athletes.

The squads take part in International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) competitions in the following disciplines; Sport Pistol, Standard Pistol, Rapid Fire & 10m Air Pistol.

All squads compete at the highest of levels in national, international and inter-services events. Drawn from both the Regular and Reserve force, comprising all ranks and a mix of different cap badges, expert coaching, dedicated training and exposure to top-class competitive shooting is all on offer.

Not just for the elite, novice shooters are actively encouraged into the sport, with the provision of excellent facilities, qualified and experienced instructors and subsidised shooting available for all. All the necessary equipment can be provided to get you up and running.

Target Pistol training strongly supports a relaxed and supportive learning environment for all and avidly applies the core marksmanship principles, which has seen participants make substantial improvement to their shooting ability and significant enhancement to those competing in Service shooting events and the Combat Shooting team.

The Army Target Shooting Club (ATSC) Target Pistol (TP) Section is also open to new members whether you are a Regular or Reserve soldier or a Veteran. To become a member and attend the subsidised training and club days on weekday and weekends, please contact the Army Rifle Association for a membership form.
